Arsene Wenger has changed focus to the Spain international after missing out on Jamie Vardy, but face competition from Arsenal's London rival which is monitoring the situtation.

Arsenal has joined Chelsea in the race for Alvaro Morata's signature, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Arsene Wenger revealed at the weekend that he was planning on making two more signings this summer and has identified the Juventus striker as a target after missing out on Jamie Vardy.

Chelsea is still monitoring the situation, with Real Madrid holding a cut-price buy-back clause on the Spain international and is expected to be open to selling him on for a profit during the summer transfer window.

Juventus is willing to sell Morata, who scored twice for Spain against Turkey are Euro 2016 on Friday, at a higher fee than the €32 million figure Real Madrid are able to trigger.
The forward's representatives believes he wants to take revenge on the incoming City boss - a chance the striker may get if he joins the Old Trafford side.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants to take revenge on Pep Guardiola, according to the Sweden striker's agent Mino Raiola.
The 34-year-old is widely expected to join Manchester United on a free transfer, with his Paris Saint-Germain contract set to expire after four prolific years with the French champions.
Ibrahimovic - who scored 50 goals for PSG in 2015-16 - and Guardiola are on poor terms after their relationship broke down during the striker's one-year spell under the head coach at Barcleona in 2009-10.
Guardiola is taking over at Manchester City for the new season and, with Ibrahimovic set for United, two of football's biggest names are primed to rekindle their rivalry in the Premier League.
"I think he wants revenge on Guardiola, although he does not live for it because you shouldn't have two graves - one for him and one for the enemy," Raiola told Marca,"It seems destiny wants to see that meeting take place. One option is to go to the Premier League but for as long as Sweden continue in the Euros there will be no solution.
"You learn more from defeats than you do from victories and Zlatan learned a lot from what happened with Guardiola.

"As a person, I don't like him either.  Zlatan admits he is a great coach and I can think it, but I refuse to admit it."
Real Madrid is in the driver's seat in the transfer race for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
Real Madrid has a leg up on its big European rivals in the race for Juventus and France ace Paul Pogba.
The former Manchester United midfielder has been linked with a big-money move from the Italian champion to another of Europe's biggest clubs, and Madrid is now in pole position with Pogba's agent Mino Raiola confirming talks have begun with the La Liga giants.
"We are in the first stage of the negotiations," Raiola told Marca.  "Paul admires Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane and that will obviously be important towards his decision."
As for how much Madrid will pay, the Juventus talisman will go for no less than a nine-figure fee if Raiola is to be believed.
"120 million euros, € 140 million? Paul is worth whatever a club is willing to pay for him," he said.
Whatever the fee, Juventus will make a healthy profit after Pogba left Old Trafford following just seven senior appearances.
Should he make the move, he will leave Juventus a four-time Serie A champion, having made 178 appearances for the club across all competitions, winning two Coppa Italia trophies and a Champions League runners-up medal.
The Gunners have already sealed a deal for midfielder Granit Xhaka but the Frenchman has warned that signing too many players will upset the balance of the team.
Arsene Wenger claims he will only buy two more players this summer as he is wary of upsetting the ‘balance’ of Arsenal’s squad.

The Gunners have already secured a deal for Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka, and had activated Jamie Vardy’s release clause before Wenger admitted that the striker is set to stay at Leicester City.

When asked about any further transfer business this summer, Wenger conceded he will not overhaul his squad as Arsenal looks to end a 12-year wait for the Premier League title.

“We’ve already bought one player – Granit Xhaka – from Monchengladbach, because we’ve lost three players. We’ve lost [Mikel] Arteta, we’ve lost [Tomas] Rosicky and [Mathieu] Flamini,” he told Tencent Sports. “So we’ve bought one midfielder and we’re still in the market to buy one or two more players.

“But it is not easy. It is not just buying. We also have to keep a good balance. If you buy too many players you destabilize your team. So three is the maximum.”
Fewer goals, fewer assists & more selfies! How Ronaldo's Euros experience compares to Messi's Copa party

The Portugal star is struggling to rediscover his scoring touch in France, while his long-time rival is leading Argentina to a semi-final place in America

Cristiano Ronaldo is enduring a tournament to forget at Euro 2016 thus far, compounded by a missed penalty against Austria as Portugal made it two points from two games on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, over in Massachusetts, Ronaldo's long-time rival Lionel Messi was busy equalling Argentina's all-time top scorer record with his 54th international goal and assisting both Gonzalo Higuain and Erik Lamela in a 4-1 win over Venezuela to reach the Copa America semi-finals.

Back in Europe, Ronaldo - who did break Portugal's all-time caps record - has now attempted more shots in two games than nine other countries, including Italy, Wales and Sweden. He did, however, have time to take a selfie with a fan.

Using data from Opta - plus an added extra - we have compared how both have fared so far this summer following matches against Panama, Bolivia and Venezuela and Iceland and Austria, respectively

Tottenham on verge of signing Southampton star

Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama is close to completing a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Kenya international has been linked with a reunion with former Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane for some time. It appears the move could finally happen, with the report claiming that a medical is lined up for some point over the next few days.
Southampton have seemingly decided to cash-in on their wantaway star and are said to have agreed an £11m fee.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy tried to offer Ryan Mason or Nabil Bentaleb to the south-coast club in part-exchange, but the deal is likely to be cash-only.
Champions Leicester City were also in the running to sign the 24-year-old, but it is the north London club who have struck a deal.
Wanyama, who turns 25 next week, had been offered a new contract but turned it down. He had previously pushed for a move away from St Mary’s a year ago.
Pochettino is keen to add competition for England international Eric Dier and Belgium star Mousa Dembele.

3 clubs ready to pay £200m for Neymar, Man Utd linked

Three clubs are ready and able to pay the £200m release clause in Barcelona star Neymar’s contract, according to the Brazilian’s agent.
Wagner Ribeiro reckons three of the world’s biggest clubs are interested in signing his client. He declined to name Neymar’s suitors, but Manchester United have been strongly linked with him in the past and are thought to be one of the three.
United are one of only a handful of clubs who could realistically entice Neymar and finance the deal. That leaves Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich as the other likely contenders.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Ribeiro told Radio Jovem Pan: “Today there are three big clubs in the world who want to hire Neymar and pay the €200m clause to FC Barcelona.
“I can not say anything else, because it is a sensitive subject.”
The report claims that Neymar’s future is still in the air. Given that he is widely reported to be in the final stages of negotiations over a new long-term contract at Camp Nou, perhaps Ribeiro is trying to squeeze every last cent out of the Catalan giants before his client signs.
